Sometimes math just hurts my head.

But other times it tickles my cerebellum like a feather duster swatting my neck's tiny hairs.

One such day, when numbers were making me smile, I made this:.

Which was a reminder to me about the 6 things I needed to do the next day.

After getting five of them done, I thought it was easy sailing.

Sometimes the wind does not blow.
It ceases motion to leave you with yourself.
to ponder the roads yet traveled.

When numbers cursed me for a spell, I countered with this:

The eye blinks, and the dragon flaps away.
Bound toward a shared destination
of optimism and treasure.

I'm a kook, it's true. But sometimes kooks are useful. I'm bound to prove it someday,
or die trying.

  1. I read this over, and I still felt like I was reading in ADD.

    1. I'm honored to get a re-read from you, but I'm not sure if it's a good thing to be tied to a disorder that I not have only self diagnosed myself with, but have learned that it was previously MBD, Minimal Brain Damage.

    1. True, that which hurts us in the head like math, is to be praised for pushing us toward the fire of ingenuity. I'm grateful for your complimentary words, Patt.

    1. Haha. true, but if two friends and two invisible friends get together is it still a foursome? Arrrgh, I'll never get through these hoops of conundrums.

  6. The lashes of that eye span the horizon like a dragon's wings. Furious winds blow across the land with the blink of the eye!

    Translation = math sucks!

    1. Is this how pat Hatt feels when people answer his blog in rhyme? I find it cool to get comments in the style of the post.

Thanks for the translation and better tiny poetry.

    3. I'm trying to wrestle them from the hands of my Inner Critic. I only capitalize the words because I have a very strong one, that is not willing to let go of the guest posts, even without sound.

    1. Thanks, G. Although I know I'm not done with the pain of maths, I'll make the hurt work for me. It's all we can do...or at least perceive that we can.

    1. Thank you , Jéanne. Glad you enjoy the words and images. When numbers line up without a heady math included, they can go so far as to cause our smiles to become as wide as our yawns.

  11. Are those haikus gone wrong? I kept trying to count the number of syllables for each phrase.

    1. That's a no on the haiku. The focus of parts of this work were to make form out of formlessness, which would make those with an eye for form to scrutinize for proof of form. By counting you have proved that although there are no purposely positioned dactyls in pentameter or hexamater, it seemed to follow some sort of rule. Offhand, OCD is an opposite/cure for MBD. I have tendencies for both.
